Many celebrities have made a habit of appearing bra-less at public events, but that hasn't seemed to hurt sales of bridal underwear. Ironically, there is a boom in celebrity collections and more gorgeous choices than ever, often at reasonable prices. Sales have been boosted by mostly younger women, who consider it trendy to buy a new piece of lingerie for occasions like a party or trip.

Basic black and white continue to be the most popular colors, but fashion TV series and superstar advertising campaigns have been turning underwear into more of a high end fashion statement then ever before. The trend of underwear-as-outerwear was pioneered by Jean Paul Gaultier and Dolce & Gabbana in the 1980s, but more recently it has been championed by stars like Rihanna and Lady Gaga.

The hot young star of "High School Musical" fame, Vanessa Hudgens has posed in a two piece lingerie set for her newest Candies campaign.

The star can be seen ironing in little more than a bra and knickers for the new promotion. This isn't the first time that fans have seen a whole lot of Hudgens. A few years back nude pictures of the then teen aged actress appeared all over the web.

Ironically, the purpose of these ads is not to advertise the purple and pink lingerie that she is sporting on her near perfect body, but instead to promote the brand's suede pumps which she is also wearing. The look is quite exquisite.

She follows a long line of attractive women who have modeled for Candies over the years in next-to-nothing splendor, including Jenny Mccarthy, Hayden Panettiere, and Britney Spears. She is however, one of the first dark haired beauties to promote the brand, which seems to have a thing for blondes.

Supermodel Elle MacPherson's latest fashion venture is adding bridal underwear to her designer portfolio of intimate wear. She is introducing lacy styles that are designed to make a bride feel especially beautiful on her wedding day. The collection includes bras, panties, garters and corsets in cream, white and pale yellow shades.

MacPherson said that her newest line is aimed at women who have a strong individual sense of style and want to reflect this on their wedding day especially. The bras are sized for brides with a fuller figure, and are available in sizes up to a G-cup which is not typical of many bridal underwear lines. MacPherson first introduced her intimates line in 1990, and since then she has had some stiff competition from big names like Victoria's Secret, which recently launched a bridal-themed lingerie line as well.
